Carduus uncinatus Bieb.

Flora Europaea

perennial, H

xeric steppe species which occasionaly can act also like a ruderal

Pontic-Caucasian

Festucion rupicolae, sometimes as a ruderal in Onopordetalia

R34 habitats from Dobrudja and occasionaly in R87s from the same region

This is a typical Pontic steppe species present in Romania only in Dobrudja and very locally in southern Moldavia (Smardan, Galati county)

It is to be noticed that the anthodia in this species remind a lot the ones of Jurinea glycacantha but the rest of the plant habit immediately shows that we deal with a Carduus species.
